Tree stump grinding provides the most efficient form of stump removal. With minimum disturbance we can grind the tree stump down to approximately 12" below the surface which is an adequate depth for laying a lawn or concreting over. There are other ways to get rid of your tree stump, you could try digging them out but this can often be extremely hard work and take a very long time. There are numerous solutions which can be added to the tree stump to aid decomposition, some claiming to take weeks but few make the process any quicker  than the natural decay process which can be years.

The stump grinder runs at high speed as the cutting teeth are moved from side to side. The tree stump is ground down to wood chips which can be used as mulch around the garden. The stump grinder that we use is 36 inches in width and will fit through most garden entrances. On occasions when we can’t get access to your tree stumps because of narrow entrances it’s quite often possible to gain access via a neighbouring property. It is not possible to remove all of the roots from the tree as they can cover such a large area. When we remove the tree stump from your property the root system will start to die away if it hasn’t done so already. In some cases root sprouts will develop, if these are allowed to grow they will produce the nutrients that allow the root system to grow back so should be trimmed back until they no longer appear.

What we charge to remove your tree stumps depends on the size of the tree stump and what you will be doing with the area i.e. if you just need the stump to be taken to beneath ground level it’s quicker for us than removing the entire stump. In most cases we remove the complete stump but sometimes this is not possible depending on the location of the stump, for instance if the stump is very close to a concrete base of some sort we can only take so much out as access will be limited. In most cases the mulch that is produced by the stump grinder is back filled into the hole that is created, this mulch can be used around the garden to great effect. If you would like us to take this mulch away from your property please let us know when we arrange a quote.

Found Paul through an online search – his reviews, work done and website looked impressive so we booked him in to help us with various gardening works. Very friendly, on time, helpful (gave me lots of advice re maintaining my garden in the future) and most importantly did a fantastic job. Thanks.

Paul called round to assess the job and give us a quote to remove a huge stump from our front garden.

He was professional from the beginning, calling round on time and assuring us that his machine would be superb for the job.  It was.

Paul worked with the machine for a couple of hours grinding away at the roots and left us with a flat piece of land which I’m beginning to plant.  He used boards to make sure people on the pathways didn’t get hit and he was careful with our wall as the root was quite near .

Thanks Paul.  I would recommend Paul to eliminate a good size annoying root.  It’s much more eco-friendly than using harsh chemicals and it does the trick in half a day rather than waiting for years.

We found Paul to be very professional. He done a great job for us and was by far the cheapest quote we had. Would  highly recommend.
